For two days Brussels housed hundreds of investigative journalists that attended the European Investigative Journalism Conference 2008, organised by the VVOJ. The conference offered a packed programme of panel sessions, management tracks and computer classes. Tijdens de Regiomiddag van de VVOJ op 21 april in Brussel stonden de volgende onderwerpen op het programma: een bekroonde reeks lokale nieuwsartikelen over vastgoedschandalen het opvragen van overheidsdocumenten in Vlaanderen; EU-beleid dat relevant is voor regionaal en lokaal nieuws; subsidies voor Belgische en Nederlandse journalistiek.
