Patrick Pouw worked as general reporter for the Dutch daily newspaper Algemeen Dagblad before he became a fulltime investigative journalist. At the paper he already gravitated towards investigating the Islamic community in his hometown Utrecht, a focus that has sharpened with the publication this year of his book ‘Salaam’. In it, he describes his year at the mosque of Salafist teacher Suhayb Salam. Pouw also published extensively on the extremist right in the Netherlands.
