Dr. Stephen Porter is an educator, researcher, and consultant in the area of psychology and law. As a professor of psychology at Dalhousie University, he has published numerous scholarly articles on deception detection and other forensic issues. Further, he has been qualified as an expert witness in various areas, including credibility assessment and dangerousness. He has provided empirically-supported training in deception detection to law enforcement and hundreds of judges. He is regularly consulted by police in detecting deception and planning interview strategies with suspects in murder and other serious crime investigations.
